About This Place

Welcome to The Whistlestop Cafe, a charming gem located in The Station House on Station Road, Woodbridge. This delightful cafe, renowned for its historical ambiance, offers an inviting escape just a stone’s throw from the railway. It’s a beloved spot among locals and travelers alike, where the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the enticing sizzle of a hearty English breakfast fill the air.

The Whistlestop Cafe specializes in a comforting array of hot drinks, from the quintessential Americano at £2.25 to a luxurious Mocha for the same price. For those who crave something indulgent, the Flat White and Chai Tea Latte, both priced at £2.95, are excellent choices. With quality oat milk also available, every sip is a little taste of bliss.

As I savor the offerings here, the breakfast steals the spotlight. Guests rave about the Full English Breakfast for £10.00, which showcases skillfully prepared ingredients that make for a fulfilling start to the day. The blend of crisp bacon, succulent sausages, and perfectly fried eggs creates a harmonious balance of flavors that leave a lasting impression. The vegetarian options are equally enticing, with dishes like the Vegetarian All Day Brunch featuring hearty accompaniments such as baked beans and free-range eggs.

Client testimonials echo the cafe's charm. Sue Scrivener’s admiration for the bustling atmosphere and historical decor is infectious, while Diana Salisbury highlights the convenience and comforts of dining outdoors. Romantic garden seating offers a perfect backdrop for basking in the sun while enjoying fresh cheese scones straight from the oven. Mario LoPresti had an equally delightful experience, praising the generous portion sizes and attentive COVID precautions, making guests feel safe and welcomed.

Beyond breakfast, lighter fare like the sausage and bacon bap with a refreshing vanilla shake received high praise from Duncan Shimmon, proving that The Whistlestop’s appeal transcends traditional cafe boundaries. Each dish, crafted with care, sparks conversations and fond memories among friends and family.

While the cafe shines in many aspects, diners have noted a small drawback: the restroom facilities could use a little upgrade, as mentioned by one satisfied patron. However, the culinary prowess and warm service easily outweigh this minor inconvenience.

With its delightful menu, friendly staff, and inviting atmosphere, The Whistlestop Cafe is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a culinary destination that invites you to linger a little longer. Come hungry, leave happy—they promise to make every meal memorable.

This is a great place to eat next to the station. Historical features around the walls. It gets very busy. Excellent Fulk English Breakfast

We sat outside. Easy to order using table number. Cheese scones were just out the oven. Staff were very happy

We popped in for a light lunch and was not disappointed. My sausage and bacon bap with side salad was delicious as was my vanilla shake. Staff were friendly and provided an efficient service.

We had a most enjoyable lunch here sat outside in their garden. Plenty of Covid precautions in place made us feel safe. The food was of excellent quality, huge portions and a fair price. We would have no hesitation in eating there again.

I have to give 5 stars because the food, drinks and service were all just perfect. My photo might not truly show but they must have a great chef out back because every element was cooked faultlessly. It was the best cooked English breakfast I've had in about 2 years and I've tried so so many, at much higher prices as well. In considering, i couldn't actually fault it in a single way. The staff are down to earth and lovely. My Berry smoothie was really delicious! Coffee very nice. The staff are down to earth and lovely. I just wish there was room for better toilet facilities. There is only one toilet and its not the best and uncomfortably close to the kitchen. However, everything was so great I still can't rate the whistlestop lower then 5 stars despite this!

Hidden in the station building I suspect most visitors wouldn't know it was there. This is a classic British cafe, but with modern sensibilities, salad with bacon sandwich a good example. Staff are fun and charming. Its not large so recommend booking if you can. Was full of locals who obviously know a good thing when they see it. Good place to take visitors who haven't seen a British cafe. Excellent bacon sandwich and coffee Very dog friendly, outside space for summer.
